How to get rid of my cellulite
Cellulite is a harmless skin condition that is lumpy and dimpled flesh on the abdomen, bottom, thighs and hips. You may have heard people call it orange peel, or cottage cheese. Cellulite is more common in females than males due to the different distributions of fat, muscle and connective tissue. Do I have cellulite? If you are unsure if you have cellulite, the easiest way to check is by pinching the skin around your upper thigh. Is it looking a bit lumpy? If it is, then you more than likely have it. Don’t let it get you down as you are not alone, around 80 – 90% of women may experience cellulite at some point. What causes it? What is pigmentation?
If you pay close attention to your skin, you may have noticed small areas of discolouration and darkening. Not those freckles… I’m talking uneven dark patches that seem to persist on your face, neck, shoulders and hands. This is pigmentation – or brown spots as they’re more commonly known. How can you get pigmentation? It is caused by the sun. In this blog, I wanted to give you as much information on pigmentation as possible because some have it and don’t even realise. So, what are these dark patches on my skin? Okay, let’s jump straight in. Also known as hyper-pigmentation, pigmentation occurs due to an increase in the number of pigment-producing cells in the skin, or the pigmented substance they produce (melanin). Why do I have pigmentation on my skin? Interestingly, it’s not always brought on by sun exposure … Continue reading

Do I have Rosacea?
You may have often looked at your skin and wondered ‘Why do I have red skin?’ ‘Why is my skin so sensitive?’ If you have, you may have rosacea and if it goes untreated, it can lead to permanent damage. What is rosacea? Rosacea is a common skin condition which usually occurs on the face and predominantly affects fair skin but may affect all skin types in people aged 40 to 60 years old. It is more common in women but when affecting men, it may be more severe. It is a chronic condition, and can persist for a long time and, in any individual, the severity tends to fluctuate. Rosacea tends to affect the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose, and is characterised by persistent redness caused by dilated blood vessels, small bumps and pus-filled spots similar to acne. There … Continue reading
