How Your Skincare Routine Could Be Affecting Your Treatment Results

When patients feel they’re not achieving their skin goals as quickly as they would like we will look at how your skincare routine could be affecting your treatment results.

Having treatments in clinic is often only half the story of achieving your dream skin. For patients who implement a well-planned skincare routine at home alongside their treatments in clinic, we always see better results. Whilst the treatments you can have at Christchurch Derma Spa can give you almost instant results in some areas, your daily skincare can be just as important.

For the patients I see who are really serious about transforming their skin, I will always recommend the appropriate Alumier products to use alongside their treatments. These products are proven to work, 100% cruelty free, as well as being free from common ‘nasties’ found in high street skincare, such as: parabens, sulphates, artificial fragrances and chemical sunscreens.

Why consistency matters in your skincare routine

The hard work, unfortunately, comes down to you and ensuring you are consistently following your at home routine – whether that’s 1 step or 4.

Only following your skincare routine a few times a week isn’t going to have the impact you’re looking for. As hard as it can be sometimes, the key to achieving your skin goals is to follow your routine every single day.

If you struggle to keep up your routine or find it hard to remember what you need to do, just chat with me next time you’re in the clinic and we can discuss the steps or even simplifying things if needed.

Skin barrier health

Another factor in achieving the best results possible from your treatments, is how healthy your skin barrier is. If your skin barrier is compromised and struggling, you’re simply not going to get the optimum results from your treatments.

By managing your skincare routine and following it closely, you can heal your skin barrier, supporting it to be happier and healthier – allowing your treatments to really shine. If you want to find out more, click here to read our blog on How To Support Your Skin Barrier.
