Skin Tag, Wart, Mole & Milia Removal: Everything you need to know

I am super excited to be finally able to offer skin tag removal, wart removal, milia removal and mole reduction. Several clients have asked me about it over the past few years. Having completed my training in Advanced Cosmetic Procedures, I am now ready to go!

Get rid of skin blemishes for good

For a few seconds of mild discomfort, you can permanently reduce or remove your skin tag, wart, milia, or (benign) mole and boost your skin confidence.

Using Advanced Cosmetic Procedures, minor skin blemishes can be quickly and effectively removed using cauterisation, which uses heat to destroy the blemish.

What types of skin blemishes can be treated?

A wide range of skin blemishes or skin conditions may be treated, including:

  • Skin tags
  • All types of warts
  • Small benign moles
  • Milia

Don’t forget you will need your GP/Doctor’s agreement that your mole is benign and can be removed for cosmetic reasons. Without this consent, you will not be able to have the treatment.

How long will it take to remove my skin tags, warts, moles or milia?

Some individual blemishes can be safely and completely removed in just a few minutes. In the case of numerous blemishes, your treatment plan will depend on several factors, including the type of lesion and your skin’s reaction to the treatment. If many blemishes within a small area are to be removed, I will discuss an individual treatment plan with you during your first appointment.

Appointments are generally quick and only take 15 mins to 30 minutes in duration. The treatment is relatively painless. A topical anaesthetic is available if required. However, most people don’t need it.

What results can I expect?

Results are often considered to be very good, with little to no marks left on the skin when healed fully.

Will my skin blemishes return over time?

Treated blemishes do not return. However, new ones may form depending on the underlying cause in some cases. I can advise you about methods of reducing the likelihood of blemishes returning during your consultation.

How long will it take to recover from the treatment?

No recovery time as such is necessary. You can return to work and normal activities immediately after treatment. If the treatment area is on your face, you may wish to plan treatment around social events so you can go out confident that you are looking your best once the area has healed. It is also best to avoid having the treatment before going on holiday in the sun.

What should I do after my appointment?

Post-treatment advice may include applying an antiseptic cream after treatment, cleaning and protecting the treated area to avoid infection and not exposing yourself to the sun without applying a high factor sunblock to the treated area.

What happens to the skin following removal or reduction of a skin tag, wart, mole or milia?

The treated area develops a scab, usually within an hour. The full healing time depends on the type and size of the blemish removed and your normal healing rate. Most people find that small skin tags, warts, moles or milia are completely healed within a week. Larger ones may take up to three weeks.

Once the treated area has healed and the scab has fallen off, there is normally a small pink patch that fades over time. This also depends on the individual and environmental factors and can be a week or two or (rarely) several months. You can easily cover the area with concealer if this makes you feel more comfortable.
