Did you know there are 3 things every skin needs, no matter your age? We discussed this a lot at the recent skincare evening and it surprised me how many people just weren’t aware that they were missing at least one of these from their skincare routine.
Once you know, there’s no going back and I’ve already seen an improvement in the skin of patients who implemented changes based on the event. So, let’s talk about these three super important things your skin needs…
SPF
You know that was coming didn’t you? Or did you? If you’ve been in my world for a while you’ll know how important SPF is for your skin. It’s also the number one thing you can do to help slow down skin ageing.
If you’re not already using SPF every single day, you really need to be. It goes on as the last step in your morning routine, before you put on your make up (if you wear it). You can shop AlumierMDs range of high quality SPF products here.
Active Ingredients in Your Skincare
Active ingredients are what does the work in good quality skincare. Cheap, high street skincare products often don’t have any active ingredients and if they do, often the concentrations are very low, as is the quality.
Active ingredients include things like: Vitamin C, Retinol, Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid, Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and more. These ingredients are what target specific skin concerns including acne, aging, pigmentation etc.
The AlumierMD range of products that I stock in the clinic, are medical grade, high quality skincare products that will do what they say they’ll do.
Consistency
When it comes to caring for your skin and seeing the results you want, you’ll often hear me suggest that you finish your current skincare and as each product runs out, invest in one Alumier product that will have the active ingredients your skin needs, to start looking it’s best.
Now, in my opinion, it’s not always necessary to have 6 or 7 products to target those concerns. The most important thing about these products is using them consistently. If you use one product consistently, as advised in the clinic, you will see better results, than using 4 products occasionally.
When you use the same skincare products consistently, the active ingredients build over time making them more effective and giving you better results. You may also find some initial subtle improvements as soon as you start using new products but maximum results can take 3-12 months – of consistent use.
If you’re missing some or all of these skin care must dos and would like to talk about your skincare routine or goals, please book a consultation with me in the clinic and we can get you on the path to beautiful skin.
