I’ve written a few blogs about Rosacea as it’s something lots of my clients suffer with. This time I want to focus on which skin treatments can help with Rosacea.
It can be hard to know which treatments can help with Rosacea and which could make it worse. It’s so important to speak to a skin specialist who can advise you on the treatments best suited to your skin and help you achieve the results you desire.
At Christchurch Derma Spa there are typically two treatments that I recommend for my clients who struggle with the signs and symptoms of Rosacea, they are: chemical peels and LED light treatment.
Chemical Peels for Rosacea
Although a chemical peel might sound harsh on your skin and as though it would make your Rosacea worse, that isn’t the case if you choose the peel carefully.
Not all chemical peels will be suitable for those with Rosacea and sensitive skin, however the Clinicare Pure Peel is anti-inflammatory and can help calm your skin, rather than irritate it.
The Clinicare Pure Peel is a superficial chemical peel that removes the upper layers of the epidermis to encourage cell renewal and skin rejuvenation.
The active ingredients in the Clinicare Pure Peel are:
- Salicylic acid 20% – This has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
- Lactic acid 12% – This is the mildest form of AHA and helps to maintain moisture in your skin. It boosts luminosity and gently stimulates collagen production.
- Glycolic acid 28% – Probably the most popular AHA, widely used for exfoliation, it promotes epidermal renewal, disperses melanin in the basal layer and regulates sebum production. Which is why this peel is also great for those with acne or pigmentation concerns.
This treatment can also be paired with LED Light Treatment, for optimum results.
LED Light Treatment for Rosacea
CACI’s LED light therapy treatments can help with Rosacea by using red and blue light to rejuvenate your skin. This is a soothing treatment with no downtime.
Red light can reduce redness and visible blood vessels often associated with Rosacea. It can also help to speed up your skins healing process and even out your skin tone.
Blue light can have an antibacterial and calming effect on inflamed or sensitive skin. This can calm your skin and ease any discomfort caused by your Rosacea.
A slow alternating LED mode is often recommended as you benefit from both light colours during the treatment.
Our CACI LED treatment can be paired with a chemical peel or used on its own.
