At our local clinic, we use the latest equipment and techniques to safely remove excess ear wax, restoring your comfort and hearing clarity. The NHS no longer offers routine ear wax removal, but we believe your hearing health deserves proper care — in a professional, clinical, and calm environment.

Clear hearing. Safe hands. Expert care.

Are you struggling with any of these common symptoms of ear wax build-up?

  • Blocked or muffled hearing
  • Earache or a feeling of fullness in the ear
  • Tinnitus (ringing or buzzing in the ears)
  • Dizziness or balance issues
  • Itchiness in the ear canal
  • Whistling hearing aids

If so, it may be time to have your ears professionally examined and cleaned.

At Christchurch Derma Spa, we offer both irrigation and microsuction methods of ear wax removal so you receive the safest and most effective treatment for your needs.

Irrigation vs Microsuction – What’s the Difference?

  • Irrigation – gentle warm water flush, best for softer wax
  • Microsuction – gentle suction under direct vision, safe and precise

Ear microsuction and ear irrigation are both suitable for most people 18+, as well as hearing aid users. If you have previously suffered from a perforated eardrum or ear infections, ear microsuction will be recommended.

What to Expect During Your Ear Wax Removal Appointment

We’ll discuss your symptoms and examine your ears with specialist equipment. If wax is present, we’ll proceed with microsuction or irrigation and explain both methods so you can choose what’s right for you.

As our experts are trained in both ear microsuction and ear irrigation, we can use both solutions to fully remove all the wax from your ears if required. The process usually takes just 15 to 30 minutes. We’ll provide helpful guidance to keep your ears healthy post-treatment.

Using professional equipment, we can show you the inside of your ear on camera before and after your treatment, so you can see the difference for yourself.

At your appointment, we will provide you with a set of earplugs, which you will need to wear when bathing or showering for 3 – 7 days after the treatment to ensure your ears remain completely dry. You cannot submerge your head in water for seven days after the treatment. If you’re planning a holiday by a pool, it’s best to book your treatment after your return.

What to Expect After Your Ear Wax Removal Appointment

If you usually wear hearing aids, you will need to keep your hearing aids out for 3 to 6 hours after the treatment, to make sure the ear canal is completely dry. It may be best to ask someone to come with you to the appointment, to ensure you can get home safely.

You will also need to use the earplugs provided when showering or bathing, to avoid submerging your head under water for 7 days after your treatment.

Price

£75 for both ears

Even if you think only one ear is affected, wax is often found in the other ear. You will gain maximum results by having both ears professionally examined and cleaned at the same time.
