April is Rosacea Awareness Month, so it seemed like to perfect time to dive in and answer the question, ‘What is rosacea?’ 🤔 Many of my clients don’t even realise they have rosacea. They come to see me concerned about their red face or the fact that they always look hot and flushed, even though they don’t feel it. So many of us assume that as we get older, we will no longer get spots. Sadly, this is wrong. I hear many clients at their skin consultation say, I’m not a teenager, why am I getting constant spots? What is rosacea? Rosacea is a common skin condition which usually occurs on the face and predominantly affects fair skin but may affect all skin types in people aged 40 to 60 years old. It is more common in women but when affecting men, it may be more severe. It is a chronic condition, and can persist for a long time and, in any individual, the severity tends to fluctuate.
