Live on Radio Solent: ️Back to School Summer Special

OMG – I was live on the radio in the actual studio! I have chatted with BBC Radio Solent presenter Lucy Ambache several times over the past couple of years. She first got in touch during lockdown to talk about how local businesses were coping with COVID. Since then, she’s kindly invited me on to her show by phone several times. But this time, she asked me to join her in the actual studios for her Friday social!

I had such an amazing afternoon with Lou and her other guest, Denise Brimms, owner and founder of Brimms Yoga. They are both amazing ladies, and the session was full of giggles, fun and the Fri-yay feeling. It was a fabulous way to end the week!

We chatted all things back to school, including how we managed the juggle during the summer holidays. I am so lucky to be in charge of my own diary and able to book client appointments when I have childcare and then enjoy days off with the kids, too. Even if the weather didn’t exactly play ball ☔ I shared my top tip for labelling school uniforms. I made it a competition this year by challenging the kids to see who could label their uniform the quickest, and it actually worked!

Not only did Denise bring some homemade Apple Strudel in for us to eat, but she also did some relaxation live on the radio. I really worked, and I felt so relaxed. Denise has her own podcast, which is fab. I’m actually thinking of starting my own podcast, sharing tips and advice on all things skincare. More info coming soon!

We talked about how much I love everything to do with skin and why I describe myself as a skin geek. I love treating skin so that people can look and feel better. Lucy and I also discussed the government consultation that recently opened about making treatments like Botox safer. I don’t know why the legislation hasn’t come in sooner, and am fully supportive of the changes. It scares me so much that beauty therapists can go on a day’s course and start injecting people. That’s why I was happy to welcome Dr. Jen to my team for aesthetics, as she is so highly qualified to do what she does, and it’s safe.
